Johnson Wins Fla North-South MVP

Kendrick Johnson, fresh off winning the offensive MVP award in the Florida North-South All-Star game, will be heading to Clemson Friday for an official visit. has all of the details, including his host and when he could sign his papers to enroll in January, in this report.

The 6-1, 175 pound prospect brought home MVP honors in the Florida North-South All-star game last week. "It was a good game. I had two catches for 96 yards. Those passes setup two scores for us. I was the offensive MVP of the game. Coach Blackwell came down to see me play," Johnson told in a recent interview.

The Clemson verbal commitment has been working over the last week to get everything finalized for a January enrollment. "It's a 'go.' Everything is good. I will start in January.

"I am going up for an official visit tomorrow (Friday). I just spoke with Coach Blackwell about the plans for the visit. There is a good chance I will sign my papers this weekend."

The Dillard High standout is also really looking forward to his official visit this weekend. "I just want to get up there and watch the guys practice. I will get to watch two of the bowl practices. I just want to enjoy my time in Clemson. I want to get out a little bit and see what everything is like. Chansi Stuckey will be my host. I look forward to getting a chance to know him better."

Johnson may make the trip up to Orlando to watch the Tigers bowl game. "I am thinking about going to the bowl game. Coach said we could talk about it this weekend. I will most likely be going to the game," he added. Top Stories
