Clemson Commitment Visits Alabama

Clemson verbal commitment DeAndre McDaniel took an official visit to Alabama last weekend. Is the 4-star prospect still firm to the Tigers? has the answer in this recruiting update.

The 6-1, 180 pound prospect took an official visit to Alabama last weekend. "It was alright. I left Saturday afternoon after my test. I came back Sunday night. I met most of the players on Saturday night," McDaniel told

How would McDaniel rate the visit on a scale of 1 to 10? "I would give it a seven or eight. It was pretty good," he said.

Coach Swinney traveled back to Tallahassee for the third straight week to visit with the prize recruit after the visit. "Yeah he came by on Monday. He came by the school. We talked about me getting qualified and stuff. I'm going to be in pretty good shape. I don't expect any problems," McDaniel said.

When asked how firm his commitment is to the Tigers, McDaniel responded, "Its firm. It's still firm."

The Florida standout had planned to participate in the California-Florida All-star game, but an injury may keep him from making the trip. "I am supposed to go, but I may back out. My shoulder is still bothering me a little bit. It got hit again in a basketball game. I want to rest it to make sure it is not a future problem," he said.

The Godby standout continues to work his teammates to get them to join him in Tiger Town. "I think I'm making some progress with Kareem (Crowell). I still have some talking to do with Marcus (Udell)."

McDaniel will not be able to travel to Orlando to see the Tigers bowl game, but he will be watching. "No, I want be able to go. I will be watching it on television though. I'm looking forward to it," he added.
