Top DT Planning to Visit Bowl Practice

One of the top defensive linemen still on the board will be making a trip to Orlando later this week to watch the Tigers prepare for the Champ Sports Bowl. has the latest on the star defensive tackle in this recruiting update.

6-3, 285 pound defensive tackle prospect Kareem Crowell has been a hot topic of conversation in recruiting circles the past few weeks.


Because Crowell, a current verbal commitment to Auburn is still looking at several other schools, including Clemson.

This past weekend, he visited Louisville. "It went good," Crowell said of the visit. "I enjoyed my time with the coaching staff and the players. We had a good time together."

How would Crowell rate the visit on a scale of one to ten? "I would give it like an eight or nine," he responded.

There are still two and possibly even three more official visits left on his schedule. "I am still going to Auburn on January 13 and Clemson on January 20. I may go to Marshall on January 27. I'm not sure about that one yet," he said.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney continues to stay in close contact with the prize recruit. "Yeah I talked with Coach Swinney and he said he was on his way to Orlando. He told me to come by and watch them practice," Crowell said.

"I am going to go to a practice. I will go over there either Friday or Saturday."

Crowell will also be heading to the California All-star game with one teammate but another will be staying home. "We leave on Sunday. DeAndre is going to stay home I think to rest his shoulder. Marcus Udell will be coming with me."

When asked if he is still firm with his commitment to Auburn, Crowell responded, "Yes, I'm still firm. I just want to go on those visits and see how I enjoy the players and the coaching staffs. I want to see how I like the towns. I just want to go on the visits and then sit down with my parents to discuss where the best place for me is."

Teammate DeAndre McDaniel continues to try to convince Kareem to join him in Tiger Town next year. "Yeah, DeAndre is working me every single day."
