2003 Profile: DL Will Durrett

Will Durrett is probably a name you haven't become too familiar with just yet. Durrett will be leading the South Aiken Thoroughbreds into 2002 with thoughts of improving on last year's dissapointing 4-7 campaign.

Durrett (6'4,282,5.2) is a bruising linemen that currently plays on both sides of the ball for the South Aiken Thoroughbreds. Last year he finished the season with 76 total tackles, 45 assists, and 15 tackles for a loss.

Durrett is quick off the line of scrimmage and has excellent footwork for his size. He can bench 320, and squat 375. Even though he plays both ways, most schools are currently recruiting him as a defensive linemen.

A whole range of schools are currently showing interest, including Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Auburn.

On the offensive line, Durrett will be blocking for one of the top returning running backs in the state in Rashad Hunter. Some experts have pegged Hunter as the top returning running back in the state next year.

Durrett also teams with another two-way linemen who is getting serious D-I interest. Jerome Dunbar returns this season with Durrett to form one of the top big man duo's in the state of South Carolina.

Dunbar (6'3,320) is another huge lineman that is demanding attention from schools all along the southeast. We should have a full report on him in the coming weeks.

Durrett plans on camping this summer at both South Carolina and Clemson, however he does not currently have any official offers.

We will continue to keep you updated on Will Durrett and all the athletes in South Aiken throughout the summer.
