Big DT Set for Jan. 20 Visit

This big defensive tackle just returned home from California where he represented Florida in the California/Florida All-star game. caught up with the talented athlete afterwards to get the latest on his recruitment to Clemson and much more, in this report.

6-3, 285 pound defensive tackle prospect Kareem Crowell pjust returned hom from the California Florida All-star game. "I had a good time. We just got back home today (Sunday). We won the game 20-0. We left on Christmas day and just got home today," Crowell told

"I think I did well. I played on offense. I had like five pancake blocks. I got to meet some of the other players that I have been reading about on the Internet. Guys like Tim Tebow and C.J. Spiller."

The Florida standout is still planning to take an official visit to Clemson in January. "I am still coming up to Clemson on the 20th. I am going to Auburn on January 13th and Marshall on January 27th," he said.

The talented defender had hoped to visit Orlando last week to watch the Tigers practice, but he was not able to make the trip. "I wasn't able to make it. I have talked with Coach Swinney and he is coming down to see me on Tuesday," Crowell said.

The prize recruit was able to catch some of the Champ Sports Bowl on television while he was out in California. "I got to see a little bit of it. James Davis did real well. He is going to be a great one."

And what about a timetable on a decision?

Crowell says even though he remains committed to Auburn: "I am going to take my official visits. Then I will sit down with my parents and put everything out on the table. I will make my final decision on signing day."
