Committed TE Will Visit Clemson

This tight end has been committed for quite some time, but he'll still visit Clemson for the Tigers' big recruiting weekend on Jan 13.

Despite adamantly sticking to his verbal commitment to Wake Forest, Dennis Godfrey has elected to take all five of his official visits.

"All of them [official visits] are in order," said Godfrey. "Wake Forest is the 6th to the 9th [of January]; Clemson is the 13th to the 15th; South Carolina is the 15th and the 16th; Virginia is the 20th to the 22nd; and Virginia Tech is the 28th to the 30th."

Godfrey, a 6-foot-3 255-pound tight end from Sanford (N.C.) Lee Senior, has also had extensive talks with both North Carolina and N.C. State regarding official visits.

"N.C. State is trying to get me in for an official and so is [North] Carolina," said Godfrey. "I'm trying to work everything out. I don't know what I'm going to do [about visiting NCSU and UNC]. They're supposed to give me some phone calls."

Back in mid-June, Godfrey gave Coach Jim Grobe his verbal pledge after an in-depth unofficial visit. Godfrey claims the pledge is still firm and he's using the official trips to assure himself he has made the right decision.

"I'm still committed to Wake Forest," said Godfrey. "I'm going to take my official visits to see what other schools have to offer."

Although Godfrey admits things could change at any moment, he doesn't believe his recruitment will conclude until the end of the month. Top Stories
