4-Star DL Sets Clemson Visit

This four-star defensive lineman has largely flown under the radar as a Clemson target.

Recruiting is in full swing, and new names seem to pop up on a daily basis. Thursday, a new name emerged for the Clemson Tigers on the defensive line in Immokalee, Fla. prospect John Paul.

Paul told CUTigers.com that he is set to visit the Tigers officially on Jan. 13.

"Yeah I am going to visit Clemson on the 13th. I am not sure about the other visits. I need to talk to my coach. He is setting everything up," Paul said.

Which other schools are recruiting the Floridat native? The list almost sounds like a who's who of college football. "Right now I have offers from Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Clemson, Miami, Texas, South Florida and South Carolina among others," he said.

The talented defender had an impressive peformance in the Florida-California All-star game where he had ten tackles and caused two fumbles a few weeks ago. "It was a good experience. I showed that I was good enough to play at the next level. I will either be playing with these players or against them," he said.

When asked if he has a favorite, Paul responded, "Yes but I want to keep that anonymous."

In addition, it appears a verbal commitment could come at any time from the prize recruit. "It would come any time soon," he said.

The prize recruit is being recruited by Coach Brad Scott for the Tigers. "I have never been to Clemson but I like Coach Scott. He seems like a straight forward guy. He came down to see me at school in December," Paul said.
