Committed TE Will Visit Clemson Friday

This big tight end already finds himself verbally committed to an ACC school, but that's not stopping him from checking what Clemson has to offer this weekend.

North Carolina native Dennis Godfrey has been verbally committed to Wake Forest for quite some. At the same time, he's still looking to take at least one more official visit. caught up with Godfrey Wednesday evening to get the latest on his upcoming visit to Clemson, and also on his visit last weekend to Wake Forest.

"It went very good," Godfrey said of his trip to Winston-Salem, N.C. "I had a chance to talk with the players. I got to see how college life was. I had one on one meeting with some of the professors. I also had a one on one meeting with the coaches."

How would Godfrey rate the visit on a scale of one to 10? "I would give it a 10. I was expecting it to be just business. It was more like a backyard cookout for me," he said.

When asked how firm his commitment is to Wake Forest, Godfrey responded, "It is real, real firm, but I am going to take my other official visits and see what the other schools have to offer."

So what about this upcoming weekend? "I will be going to Clemson after my basketball game Friday night," stated Godfrey. "I want to see more about their academics. I want to see what the student/teacher ratio is at Clemson. I want to see how the community values football. I want to see how the community is involved with the football program."

But that's all on Godfrey's official visit tour. "I am going over to South Carolina on Sunday," he said. "I will be there until Tuesday. Then I will take another visit to Virginia on January 20th. My last visit will be to Virginia Tech on January 27th."
