Top LB Visiting Clemson Friday

Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden and wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney met with LB Craig Stevens on Tuesday as he prepares to visit the Tigers officially this upcoming weekend. has the details about the in-home visit and his official visit in another recruiting update.

The 6-2, 215 pound linebacker had a couple of coaches from Clemson in his home Tuesday evening. "Coach Bowden and Coach Swinney were here at the house. We had a good visit. It went well," Stevens told

The Tallahassee, Fla. standout will take his final official visit of the recruiting process this weekend when he visits the Tigers. "I am coming up sometime Friday morning. I will be coming up with Kareem Crowell," he said.

So where do the Tigers stand with Stevens right now? "I just need to wait and see after my visit this weekend. I like Clemson. I just need to see how things go this weekend," he responded.

The prize recruit traveled to California last weekend to take an official visit to UCLA. "We had a lot of fun," he said of the trip. "I went out with one of my teammates. The thing I liked best about the visit was probably the city of Los Angeles."

How did Stevens rate the UCLA visit on a scale of one to ten? "I would probably give it a nine," he responded.

When asked if he has a leader, Stevens responded, "No, I don't have a leader."

A decision could come at any time for the Lincoln High star linebacker. "I don't know when I will commit. Whenever I get the right feeling I will go ahead and commit.

"I want to go where I feel the most comfortable. I want to go where I know I can play."

Does Stevens feel he can get early playing time at Clemson? "From what the coaches say it seems like I can," he added. Top Stories
