WR Will Reschedule Clemson Visit

Mark Barnes, who is rated as the second best player in Scout.com's Top 30 juniors of South Carolina, was not able to visit Clemson last weekend, but he hopes to reschedule the trip sometime soon. CUTigers.com has the latest on the Richland Northeast standout in this recruiting update.

The 6-3, 190 pound junior wide receiver/safety prospect was unable to take an unofficial visit to Clemson last Saturday. "Something came up so I couldn't make it. I will most likely go up there for the next (basketball) game or two. I definitely want to go," Barnes told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

The offer list is growing quickly for the talented junior. "I have offers from Maryland, Notre Dame, Penn State, Clemson and South Carolina. I am getting interest from Michigan, Alabama and Auburn," stated Barnes.

The two-way standout played receiver and safety this season for Richland Northeast. "Teams are recruiting me for both positions. They are giving me the decision," stated Barnes.

Clemson verbal commitment QB Willy Korn is trying to convince Barnes to join him at Clemson. "Yes sir, I just got off the phone with him. He is working me hard for Clemson," Barnes said.

Another teammate of Barnes, CB Gary Gray is also being heavily recruited. Is there a chance the two could be a packaged deal?

Not so according to Barnes.

"I don't think it will be a big factor. If it comes down to it we might go to the same school, but it's not going to be important," responded Barnes.

The prize recruit is also likely to camp at both in-state schools this summer. "I definitely want to camp at South Carolina and Clemson. I would also like to go to LSU, Michigan and Alabama," stated Barnes.
