OL Wilson Norris
Pickens High School
Pickens, South Carolina
CUTigers.com has learned that the Clemson coaching staff has picked up a verbal commitment Saturday from Pickens junior offensive lineman Wilson Norris.
Norris was offered Saturday by his main recruiter to Clemson, offensive line coach Brad Scott, and committed on the spot.
"I already knew exactly where I wanted to go. There was no reason to wait," Norris told CUTigers.com after making his decision.
Nicknamed, "Big Willy," Norris played as an offensive guard and defensive tackle this past season for the Blue Flame.
He is the fourth verbal commitment in the 2007 recruiting class.
The Tigers have also received commitments from QB Willy Korn (Byrnes), DT Jarvis Jenkins (Daniel) and WR Xavier Dye (Greenwood).
Clemson currently has 19 verbal commitments for the class of 2006. The Tigers are expected to sign 20 or 21 players on National Signing Day this year (Feb 1).
CUTigers.com will post the entire transcript of our interview with Norris, in an extensive article later this weekend.
