Bowden and Staff Visit 5-Star RB Spiller

5-star RB C.J. Spiller had an in-home visit with the Clemson coaching staff Sunday evening. Is he in any closer to making a decision? What schools are on his short list?

More than half of the Clemson coaching staff filled the house of 5-star RB C.J. Spiller Sunday evening. caught up with the Union County (Fla.) standout afterwards to get the latest on his top schools in the recruiting process, as well as how the visit went overall.

"It was nice," Spiller said. "We had a nice visit. Coach Swinney, coach Burns, coach Spence, coach Koenning and coach Bowden were all here," Spiller told "We just talked about how they would use me on offense. We watched a little bit of football also."

Spiller's mother, who was unable to make the trip up to Clemson with her son last weekend, also had the opportunity to meet the Tigers' coaching staff for the first time. "I think she enjoyed the visit. She liked the coaches and everything they had to say," said Spiller.

Did the Union County standout make a commitment to the Tigers during the visit? "No sir, I did not," he responded.

When asked if the visit changed his leaders in the recruiting process, Spiller responded, "I don't really have a leader right now."

Spiller, who just returned home after an official visit to Miami, said of his trip to Coral Gables, "I liked the visit. It went well. You can say they moved up some. The players treat you like family down there."

How would Spiller rate the Miami visit on scale of one to 10? "I would give it a nine," he responded.

And what is left for the 5-star running back in terms of recruiting?

"Well I am going to visit Florida State this weekend on my official visit there. Then hopefully I will have a decision next Monday or Tuesday on where I will play," he added.

With 19 verbal commitments, the Tigers are expected to take as many as two more prospects int he 2006 recruiting class. C.J. Spiller, the nation's No. 3 running back according to, is the top running back prospect still on the board. Top Stories
