Junior SC OL Hearing from Clemson

Mason Cloy, one of the Top 30 Scout.com juniors in South Carolina, is getting early interest from several schools including Clemson. CUTigers.com introduces the talented offensive lineman in this recruiting update.

6-4, 260 pound offensive line prospect Mason Cloy is receiving early interest from several schools around the southeast as he awaits his first scholarship offer. "Yeah I don't have any offers yet. I am hearing from Vanderbilt, West Point, South Carolina, North Carolina, Clemson and Southern Mississippi," Cloy told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

Cloy played several positions on the offensive line for Spring Valley last season. "I played center and tackle but I think teams are primarily recruiting me for center," he said.

What are the strengths of the Spring Valley standout? "I have good feet," Cloy responded. "I am fast off the ball. I have good hand placement and I maintain my blocks.

"I want to lift and get stronger though. I also want to get faster. I run a 4.9 right now. I want to try to get that down a little bit."

Which team did Cloy grow up rooting for? "My dad is a Southern Mississippi graduate so I pulled for them," Cloy responded.

The talented lineman also says he visited several schools last fall. "I went to the South Carolina game against Florida. I also saw the Clemson game against South Carolina. I went to see the North Carolina/Boston College as well."

The talented lineman and his father are discussing summer camps, but no plans have been made. "I am planning some places with my dad. We don't have anything for sure yet. I think I will visit at least one of the in-state schools," stated Cloy.

Clemson assistant coach Brad Scott is recruiting Cloy for the Tigers.
