WR Kendrick Johnson
6-1, 179, 4.49
Dillard High School
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Strengths: Tall, long receiver. Catches the ball with his hands. Excellent hands and body control. Great concentration and ball skills while the ball is in the air. Can catch the ball with defenders draped over him.
Weaknesses: Good but not great speed. He has played in a run-oriented offense and will have to sharpen his route running and other techniques. Lean and could use another 15 pounds. Johnson will need to add strength in order to fight through defenders as he did in high school.
Evaluation: Kendrick Johnson has great hands and is very athletic and would have competed for early playing time had he been able to enroll for the spring semester. But if he comes in and is asked to redshirt, a year in the weight program will be very beneficial. Johnson has decent height, but he uses his height well and is able to go up high to get jump balls. Talented wide receiver who is just tapping into his resources.
