Greenville's David Smith is one of a handful of Division I-A offensive line prospects in the state of South Carolina for the class of 2007.

And entering the heart of February, Smith is currently has already received one scholarship offer, and plenty of interest from other top programs.

"Clemson is still my only offer so far," Smith told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I still like Clemson a whole bunch. I'm trying to make up my mind about who else I can look at."

What other schools are in contention for his services?

"Right now I love Miami and Florida State," he responded. "They both work hard. They get the job done all the time."

What is the Palmetto state standout looking for in a college? "I am looking for the right environment," Smith responded. "I am not really a big partier or anything like that. I just want to stay focused on my talent which is football. I also want to focus on school."

When asked to name an early leader, Smith responded, "I would say Clemson is pretty high up there. I'm getting a lot of mail from coach Blackwell right now."

Smith's also said that his summertime camp plans will include a stop by Clemson.

"I definitely want to camp at there. I will try my best to go to some other places as well so I can get better," he said.
