Tigers Face Arkansas on Friday

Clemson will play host to Arkansas in a best-of-three Super Regional beginning Friday at 7:15 PM at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The teams will also square off Saturday night at 7:15 PM and, if necessary, Sunday at 2:00 PM for a berth in the 2002 College World Series in Omaha, NE.

Reserved seat tournament passes good for all games are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 1-800-CLEMSON. The non-refundable passes are $30 and can be paid for with check, Mastercard or Visa. Regional reserved seat ticket holders who have already ordered tickets can pick them up at the Athletic Ticket Office after noon on Tuesday, June 4. In the event that sales of the All-Tournament passes do not result in a sell-out, single-session tickets will go on sale Friday, June 7.

Clemson (50-14), the national #2 seed and top seed of the Clemson, SC Regional, defeated Georgia Southern once and East Carolina twice by a combined score of 40-4 to advance to the Super Regional round for the fourth straight season, a claim that can be made by only six other teams. The Tigers were led by MVP Khalil Greene, who was one of seven Tigers named to the All-Tournament Team. Greene is batting .482 with 24 homers and 79 RBIs and is currently riding a 30-game hitting streak.

Arkansas (34-26) defeated Oklahoma once and Oral Roberts twice to win the Wichita, KS Regional as a three seed. MVP Nick Pitts led Arkansas as one of five players on the All-Tournament. Pitts went 7-13 with five RBIs in over the weekend.
