6-6, 325 pound offensive line prospect C.J. Matthews is hearing from a number of schools early in the recruiting process. Recently, CUTigers.com caught up with Matthews to get his thoughts on which schools may be peaking his interest.
"I don't have any offers yet," Matthews told CUTigers.com. "But I am getting mail from Notre Dame, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Schools are recruiting me mostly as a left tackle."
When asked if he has any early favorites, Matthews responded, "I really don't have a favorite right now. I will play anywhere. It is exciting being a prospect and hearing from the different schools.
"I am looking for a place where I will be treated fairly. I am looking for a coach that will help me academically and on the field. I want someone that will be there for me."
The Airport High standout also said he may camp at Clemson this summer. "I will go to Furman with my team. I might go to the Clemson camp," Matthews said.
What are the strengths of the Palmetto standout? "I am good at pass blocking," he responded. "I also do well blocking down."
The rising senior added that he plans to work hard to improve before the start of his senior season. "I plan to work on coming off the ball faster," he said. "I want to get to the linebackers easier."
CUTigers.com will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding offensive lineman, right up through signing day 2007.
