DE/TE Jamie Cumbie
6-6, 255, 4.7
Morris Community High School
Strengths: Has the physical size to play right away at the next level. Is strong enough to collapse the pocket and gets a good push off the corner. Has long arms and large hands. Also has a high energy level and plays with a mean streak. Is very effective against the run.
Weaknesses: Will need to work on his foot speed and quickness in order to stay at defensive end at the next level. Has just begun to tap into his potential in the weight room.
Film Evaluation: Jamie Cumbie was a huge pickup for the Tigers as he projects to play right away backing up sophomore defensive end Phillip Merling. Shows great athletism for a prospect of his size. Intensity really stands out. Will play defensive end for the Tigers, but is athletic enough and has the growth potential to play offensive tackle, defensive tackle and even tight end.
