CB Crezdon Butler
6-1, 175, 4.5
Asheville High School
Strengths: Has the height that coach Koenning looks for in taller zone corners. Has good speed and quickness. Comes out of his cuts very well. Catches the ball with his hands and goes up to get the ball at its highest point. Plays the ball well and makes things happen with the ball in his hands.
Weaknesses: Only weighs 175 pounds. Can be pulled down easily and will need to add strength in order to deal with physical wide receivers. Did not play defensive back full time and will need to learn those skills as he was able to rely on his speed and athleticism at the high school level.
Film Evaluation: Because of his physical talents and height, Butler has the opportunity to be a factor on the depth chart in just a short period of time. However, he will have to gain strength and will still be learning the position when he joins the team this summer. Is a candidate for early playing time, and if the coaches decide to use one of the true freshmen corners, look for Butler to be the one to get the snaps this fall. Smart player and has good instincts, all of which could help him contribute early.
