Tigers Offer 4-Star RB

After Ryan Houston was bombarded with scholarship offers in early February, things have been quiet for the Scout.com four-star prospect.

Last week, however, an ACC school ended the drought, while another big time program is also looking to extend an offer.

"Clemson offered me last Monday," said Houston. "Notre Dame [seems close to offering], because they've been calling my coach all the time."

Houston, a 6-foot-2 240-pound tailback from Matthews (N.C.) Butler, also owns offers from Florida, Michigan, N.C. State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. But, he currently lacks any favorites.

"I'm wide open," said Houston.

Saturday Houston attended the Tar Heels' junior day, and plans to travel to Knoxville this weekend for the Volunteers' junior day.

Houston ended the 2005 season with 1,910 yards and 34 touchdowns earning all-area and all-conference honors.
