SC OL Making the Rounds

Quintin Richardson is logging major miles this spring while visiting schools across the nation, and the Columbia, S.C. offensive lineman from Spring Valley is loving every minute.

"The whole process is going well and I am enjoying it," Richardson said, adding that he already visited Auburn, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Clemson, and South Carolina. "This week I am not visiting anywhere. Next weekend I am going to be at Chapel Hill seeing North Carolina, their new coach from Virginia Tech called my coach Jimmy Noonan and I am supposed to get in touch with him this sometime week and talk about coming down."

Richardson is contemplating an early decision, though he is not ready to rule any school out of the mix.

"There are none that I don't like, everything is good right now. I am still weeding things out, and I am looking at a lot of things and comparing the schools that I have been to."

His base comparisons include the same mixture of nearly every other recruit in the nation: academics and relationships.

"Academics are the first thing I am looking at, the second thing are the facilities, and right under that are the coaching staff and what they can bring for me as a play. With the facilities, the weight room, if they have an indoor facility, the stadium, the tutors I speak with, and stuff like that."

Richardson also plans to look at the position for which he is being recruited. Schools are recruiting him for nearly every position across the offensive line and Notre Dame is looking at the athletic big man as a defensive tackle.

"They are recruiting me as a defensive lineman, but they do not have tape on me there. I played just a couple of plays there last year, but that is all I played as a sophomore."
