A recent phone conversation with Clemson's coaching staff resulted in the newest scholarship offer for Tydreke Powell.
"I just got off the phone with Clemson and they offered me," said Powell. "They were just telling that they can really use me down there because they might be sending three defensive linemen early next year."
Powell, a 6-foot-3 280-pound defensive tackle from Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County, will unofficially visit Clemson for the first time on April 8th for their spring game. He will be heading to a junior day at Auburn Friday, and then be on hand for North Carolina's spring game.
Although a well-known UNC lean, a recent trip to N.C. State started to open things up for Powell.
With the addition of Clemson, Powell hits the ten scholarship offer mark. Auburn, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech compromise the remainder of his scholarship offers list.
