Checking In with C.J. Spiller

Life is much calmer these days for 5-star running back C.J. Spiller now that the recruiting process is behind him.

CUTigers.com caught up with the prize recruit for an article in an upcoming CUTigers The Magazine ... here is a sneak peak of what he had to say:

C.J. talk about what you do before a big game to pump yourself up?
Spiller: I just get away from everyone before the game. I get focused. I go over certain plays. I get myself mentally prepared.

If you didn't sign with Clemson in February, which other school would have been at the top of your list?
Spiller: I would be at Florida if I had not signed with Clemson.

How does your mother feel about you going to Clemson?
Spiller: She is excited. She is ready to get up there and get a feel for it. She will be up for the first time when we go up to the spring game.

Who is your favorite current Clemson football player?
Spiller: I haven't met them all. I would say James Davis. He was real nice on my official visit.

What are you looking forward to the most about Clemson?
Spiller: I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. I am looking forward to getting a good feel for the whole Clemson town.

When do you plan to enroll at Clemson?
Spiller: I am going to the second summer session. I will enroll right after July 4th.

C.J. Spiller was one of two 5-star prospects signed by the Tigers in the 2006 recruiting class. He is expected to come in as true freshman and compete with James Davis for the starting running back position.

As a senior, Spiller rushed for over 1,800 yards and 30 touchdowns and was named to the U.S. Army All-American Game.
