Tigers Offer NC DE

Since early February, Wesley Saunders' scholarship offers list hasn't seen much of a change – in-state rivals North Carolina and N.C. State. Late last week, Clemson gave his list a fresh, new look.

"Clemson offered sometime last week," said Saunders. "My coach told me when I was in class Friday."

The offer automatically catapults the Tigers into the favorites circle with the rest of Saunders' tendering schools.

"It just adds another school to the list, because I like Clemson just as much as I like UNC and N.C. State," said Saunders. "[Offering schools] are automatically going to be ahead of the pack. My favorites haven't offered me yet, but I still have faith in my Florida and my Notre Dame."

Saunders hasn't taken any unofficial visits this fall, but plans to attend spring games at N.C. State and North Carolina. He also hopes to camp at Notre Dame, Penn State, North Carolina, and N.C. State this summer.

A 6-foot-5, 245-pound jumbo athlete from Durham (N.C.) Riverside, Saunders could play many positions at the next level, but is mostly being recruited for defensive end. As a junior, Saunders played defensive end, tight end, and even quarterback.
