Clemson Signee Named Player of the Year

Union center and Clemson signee Trevor Booker picks up yet another honor.

6-foot-7 power forward Trevor Booker, a Clemson signee in the 2006 recruiting class, was named the South Carolina's Gatorade player of the year on Tuesday.

Booker averaged 21.9 points, 16.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists as a senior for the Yellow Jackets.

The Union standout, who committed to Clemson last May, could play one of several positions for head coach Oliver Purnell next year. "My strength is rebounding," he told in a recent intervew. "I can guard inside or outside. I will play either the 3 or 4 for Clemson. I played some point guard in high school as well.

Booker has also received several other honors this year, including being named the 3A player of the year.

Clemson will welcome four new players on the hardwood next season, including Booker, C Karolis Petrukonis, F A.J. Tyler and F David Potter. Top Stories
