Richardson Visits Clemson; Will Decide Friday

Just hours after visiting Clemson's spring scrimmage in Death Valley, Spring Valley OL Quintin Richardson has a date set for next week to announce a verbal commitment. has the details in this report.

The 6-4, 270 pound offensive line prospect traveled to Death Valley Saturday to see the Tigers in their second official scrimmage of spring practice. "It was real good. I had a great time," Richardson told afterwards. "We went up there a couple of weeks ago. We really enjoyed it just like the last visit."

The Spring Valley standout was impressed with what he saw in today's scrimmage. "It was real impressive. They really got after it today," he said. "I talked to coach Scott, coach Burns and coach Blackwell a good bit. All of the coaches came up and introduced themselves.

"Coach Scott and I had a one-on-one conversation. We talked about what the offensive lineman do at Clemson. We talked about what position I would play. He told me what I would be doing if I came up here. I got to see hands on what they do on the field. I liked the offense, the zone blocking and everything."

Clemson commitment QB Willy Korn has also been trying to convince Richardson to join him at Clemson next year.

"Yeah I got to talk with Will a little during the scrimmage," he said. "We actually talked on the phone one night last week too."

So did the unofficial visit to Clemson change his leaders? "No, it's real tight with Carolina and Clemson right now," Richardson responded. "It is real tight. I am going to make a decision between Carolina, Clemson and Tennessee."

Richardson also shared another important bit of information with

"I will make by decision this week," he said. "I will make my announcement on April 7 at 6:30. It will be at Spring Valley."

The Palmetto standout could be back in Tiger Town next weekend. "Wherever I commit on Friday, I will then visit that school for the spring game on April 8," he added. Top Stories
