4-Star LB Planning Clemson Official Visit

One of the top linebacker prospects in the southeast, picked up his fifth offer this weekend and is listing Clemson among his top schools.

Chris Donald, a 6-3, 220 pound linebacker prospect out of Tennessee picked up another scholarship offer over the weekend when he made an unofficial visit to Nashville. "Yeah I got an offer yesterday when I went to Vanderbilt. I have five offers now," Donald told CUTigers.com. "It was fun up there. It was a pretty day. We toured the campus. They have a pretty good team."

When asked about his current leaders in the recruiting process, Donald responded, "Right now I'd say that Tennessee, Clemson and Ole Mississippi are my leaders."

The prize recruit will next take an unofficial visit to Tennessee next weekend. "Next weekend I am going to Tennessee on Sunday for their baseball game," he said. "I think the coaches are going to sit with me at the game.

"I am going to try to hit Ole Miss before the spring is over with. I don't think I will visit Clemson this spring, but I am going to take an official visit to Clemson later this year."

The talented athlete also plans to attend several summer camps. "I am going to Tennessee and Ole Miss. I also may go somewhere like Notre Dame," he said.

Finally, a verbal commitment could come over the next few months for the 4-star prospect. "Yeah I should be ready to commit over the next couple of months. It will make it before my season starts.

"I just want to be in the best place. I want to find where I can come in and help the team. I would like to have playing time my first year."

Last season as a junior, Donald recorded 120 tackles, 14 sacks, 32 tackles for a loss, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and an interception. Offensively, he rushed for 1,637 yards, had 287 receiving yards and scored 27 touchdowns.
