Alexander Enjoys Clemson Experience

Future Clemson linebacker/defensive end Kevin Alexander spent the weekend in Clemson along with his teammate C.J. Spiller and his family. CUTigers.com caught up with the prize recruit to see how he enjoyed the visit and what he is doing to prepare for his freshman year, in another recruiting update.

Kevin Alexander, a 6-4, 220 pound linebacker prospect who just signed with Clemson this past February, enjoyed his trip to Tiger Town this weekend. "I had a good visit. I enjoyed it a lot," Alexander told CUTigers.com. "My family enjoyed all the fans. My dad really liked the stadium."

The talented linebacker spent most of his afternoon talking to fans and signing autographs for kids. "Yeah I liked that," he said. "I had never experienced anything like that before. I enjoyed the chance to do that for the kids."

The Union County standout was also impressed with the play of the defense.

"The defense played great," he said. "They were real strong "I talked with coach Vic and coach Blackwell. I also talked with coach Swinney some."

The star defender said that he has been working hard in the weight room in recent weeks. "I am in weight lifting training right now. We have two weeks to prepare for the state. I have also been working on the workout program from the coaches," Alexander said.

What is the Florida standout looking forward to about starting his Clemson career? "I just want to get up there and look more around the campus more," he responded. "I want to get the feel of Clemson. I am just ready to go to school and play ball."

Alexander, like most of the 2006 class, plans to enroll for the second summer session. "I will be up there in early July," he added.

Alexander was selcted to the first-team all-state team as a junior by recording 100 tackles and four sacks. As a senior, he added 85 tackles and nine sacks.
