Late last week Greg Little added two more big time scholarship offers to his continuously growing offers list.
"I talked to [Coach] Pete Carroll yesterday and USC offered," said Little. "I talked to a coach from Colorado, too, and they offered, too – [Colorado] just needed to get a transcript."
Little is encouraged by both opportunities, especially Southern Cal's reputation of bringing in the top recruits every year.
"They pretty much go after the top receivers every year, so they bring guys to push the top guys and that makes the team so much better," said Little. "If I were to go there, they would bring a guy the following year that would push me to make sure I'm performing at my top ability level."
A little over a week ago Little narrowed his list of schools down to seven. After receiving offers from Georgia, Penn State, and Oklahoma, Little decided to completely open things back up. His two latest offers furthered that notion.
"I'm wide open right now," said Little. "Pretty much I don't want to rule anyone out too early, so I'm going to take it all in, right now."
In addition to the five aforementioned schools, Little possesses tenders from Arizona State, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi, NC State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wake Forest,
Sometime in August Little will once again narrow his list down to the five schools he plans to officially visit. On October 6th – his high school's homecoming – Little will announce his collegiate decision.
This past Saturday Little was among the top performers at the Shrine Bowl Combine head in Fayetteville. After measuring in at 6-foot-2 and 206 pounds, he clocked a 4.45-second 40-yard dash and 4.44-second 20-yard dash. Little also vertically jumped 32.1 inches and bench pressed 185 pounds 26 times.
In his junior season at Durham (N.C.) Hillside, Little mostly played tailback where he rushed 160 times for 1,166 yards and 26 touchdowns. During reps at wide out, he caught 23 passes for 375 yards and four touchdowns. In limited action on defense, Little picked off four passes.
