Britt Commits to the Tigers

The Tigers picked up a huge verbal commitment on the offensive line when it was announced yesterday that Jarrod Britt has decided to come to Tiger Town. Without question, Britt is one of the top offensive line prospects in the southeast.

Four Star Georgia Offensive Lineman Jarrod Britt has pulled the trigger, and he's going to be a Clemson Tiger.

He's been visiting schools all summer trying to make an early decision, and he has made his decision. "I liked Clemson a lot," said Britt. "I think they're going to be really good. I started working out with Tim DeBeer (2001 Signee), and I really liked him a lot. I fit into their scheme well. They want me to play at about 290, and I like the way I fit into Coach West's scheme. Also, Death Valley is the prettiest darned stadium I've ever seen. I also like the fact that it's close to home."

Jarrod Britt was a standout at the Nike Camp. He has been visiting campuses unofficially this summer instead of going to football camps which could conflict with his workout schedule. His father Don is a powerlifter, and Jarrod is pushed hard from the elder Britt. "Yeah, we work out 6 days a week. My dad always has me in the dungeon (weight room) pushing me harder."

Britt is the first public verbal commitment for Tommy Bowden's Clemson Tigers, and a big man on the line of scrimmage is a good place to start.
