Butler: Looking to Be Impact Player

4-star defensive back Crezdon Butler goes on the record with CUTigers.com to discuss everything from his chances to win two state championships next week to his plans to be an impact player for the Tigers in the fall.

The 6-1, 175 pound prospect is working hard to prepare to compete at the collegiate level. "It is going pretty good. Right now I am doing the workouts they sent me. I am trying to stay in shape," Butler told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

The 4-star prospect could be on his way to winning two state championships next week on the track. "This Saturday we have the regional meet. Next Friday is the state meet at North Carolina A&T. I haven't lost this year in the 100 or 200."

The Clemson coaching staff keeps in touch with the prize recruit. "Right now the coaches are just telling me to stay in shape. They want me to be ready for practice when I come up this summer."

"We graduate on June 7. After that I will just be helping some of my friends move to college. I will also be staying in shape so hopefully I will be ready to compete."

The Clemson career for Butler will begin in less than two months. "I will be enrolling in early July for the second summer session," stated Butler.

What is Butler looking forward to the most about getting up to Clemson? "I just want to see what my competition is like. I want to see what I have to do to get some early playing time and maybe even start. The coaches told me to make sure I am ready," replied Butler.

The Asheville standout is looking for a big freshman season with the Tigers. "I just want to be a big impact player. I want to do just what I did in high school. I want to do what it takes to make that transition from high school to college."

The talented athlete has been keeping in touch with a few of his future teammates. "I talk a good bit with C.J. Gaddis and Jacoby Ford," stated Butler.
