Bowden, Swinney Visit with SC LB

One of the top linebacker prospects in the Southeast, continues to pickup scholarship offers from top schools in both the SEC and ACC. The Clemson coaching staff also stopped by to see one of their top defensive targets this week. CUTigers.com has all the details in this recruiting update.

The 6-1, 195 pound linebacker prospect Scotty Cooper continues to see his offer list grow. "Yeah I picked up an offer from LSU this week. They offered on Thursday. Penn State is showing a lot of interest as well," Cooper told CUTigers.com Sunday evening. "I am picking up so many offers. It is a little overwhelming."

When asked if he has any leaders, Cooper responded, "I don't have any right now. I have no idea when I will narrow things down."

Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden and assistant coach Dabo Swinney stopped by Lake City to visit with Cooper this past week.

"That visit went well," he said. "I called both coach Bowden and coach Swinney. We talked about me coming up to one of their camps. I still am sending text messages to the Clemson coaches almost every day."

The star defender is not sure if he will attend the Nike camp at Clemson next week. "I don't know yet," he said. "I might just come by and hang out. A couple of guys from my school will be going. I don't have anything else to prove so I don't plan to take part."

Cooper is also currently finalizing his summer camp plans.

"Right now I am still planning to go to both in-state camps. I am also probably going to camp at Tennessee. That is it so far," he said. "Our last day of school is May 26th. I can't wait till we are finished."
