One of the top middle linebackers in the state of Georgia is Danny Verdun. At 6-3 and 230 pounds, he has the ideal size to play middle linebacker at the next level. He also plays soccer and competes in track, at the same time. "They let me play soccer, and then go over to track practice afterwards and throw the shot and discus," said Verdun. Verdun's position in soccer is aptly named "stopper".
Verdun has been a busy man this summer hitting camps at Clemson, Tennessee, and Florida. He will finish up his camp tour this weekend with a stop at Georgia. Verdun doesn't have any offers yet, but with his lateral movement and size, it's only a matter of time before he gets his first. "My favorite teams in no particular order are Florida, Clemson, Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee."
Verdun ran a 4.4 shuttle time at the Nike Camp in Athens exemplifying his outstanding lateral movement. Even more impressive than his quick shuttle time is his ability as a student. Verdun is currently carrying a 3.7 GPA and is waiting on his first test score.
Verdun is a solid all-around student athlete, and he will be a credit to which ever team he chooses.
