Late Wednesday evening, CUTigers.com spoke with Walker to get the details of his trip. "I am going up in the morning," he said. "I have got to be there at 9 AM. We are going to leave here around six. I am bringing my dad and maybe a friend," Walker told CUTigers.com.
"I want to see the new WestZone. I also want to get a good look at the campus. I want to see some of the academic side of program."
Walker's unofficial visit to Clemson will be followed next week by a visit by the Tigers' coaching staff as they make a hard push to convince the talented lineman to follow in his father's shoes and play in Death Valley.
"Yeah the Clemson coaches said they will be coming up to see me at school next week," stated Walker.
So what would it take for the prize recruit to make a verbal commitment during the visit? "It would have to be something unexpected. I don't think I will commit during the visit," replied Walker.
Clemson could be the last visit for the prize recruit before he makes a decision. "I don't know if I will take any more visits or not. It could be the last visit. I might go to Virginia Tech," he said.
The winner of the Landon Walker sweepstakes should find out over the course of the next few weeks just where he'll be playing college football in 2007. "I should make a commitment in the next couple of weeks," Walker added.
Walker currently holds offers from Clemson, N.C. State and North Carolina, among others.
