LB Stanley Hunter Profile

The 6-0, 205 pound linebacker prospect visited Clemson Sunday for the Nike camp, but did not participate in any drills.

"It went well. I didn't participate," said Hunter. "I was planning on it, but coach Bentley didn't think it was a good idea. I have all the offers I need on the table. I just supported Will and my other teammates."

Hunter also said he is ready to get down to business when it comes to announcing a verbal commitment.

"I am about to crack down and make a decision in the next two or three weeks," he said. "We get out of school on Wednesday. I am planning to have everything thought out by the end of May. I will probably have a press conference the first week of June to announce my commitment."

When asked about his current leader, Hunter responded, "Clemson is still my leader."

What are the changes that the Tigers will be the team Hunter commits to the first week of June? "I would say it is about 75% right now. It is definitely a majority. New offers pop up every week, but right now it is about 75% Clemson.

"I love it at Clemson. It is a family atmosphere. It is kind of like Byrnes and Duncan. It is a small town. I love the atmosphere down there."

Even though the Tigers have remained Hunter's leader throughout the recruiting process, several schools have tried to get him to change his mind in recent weeks.

"Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Middle Tennessee State and Maryland have all offered me," he said. "I think Florida State and Alabama could pop any day now. They sound like they may offer."

Hunter also talked briefly about spring practice, which just ended last week for the state champion Rebels.

"We are doing great," he said. " We just finished spring practice. We had our spring game on Friday. The defense will be even better this year. I just want to do what I have to do to make the team better. We have some things to improve, but every team does this time of year. I will play mostly outside linebacker this year, but I will play down when we use four lineman." will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defender from South Carolina, right up through signing day.
