SC LB Planning Press Conference

Is this upstate linebacker ready to verbally commit to the Clemson Tigers? CUTigers.com has all the details about the announcement timing and the chances the Tigers will land the star defender in this recruiting update.

The 6-0, 205 pound linebacker prospect Stanley Hunter is planning to announce a verbal commitment during a press conference sometime next week.

"We are going to Vanderbilt for the seven on seven tournament this weekend. I am going to commit next week when I get back. I have asked Coach Bentley to setup a press conference for next week. I don't care what day it is. It will probably be Thursday or Friday, but I am not sure yet," Hunter told CUTigers.com.

Does Clemson still lead for Hunter's services?

"Clemson is still showing the most interest," he responded. "Clemson is still at the top of the list, followed by Florida State, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and the others. Clemson just seems like the right decision."

The summer camp plans are also being finalized but seven on seven camps will highlight the summer. "We are going to a lot of seven on seven camps," Hunter said. "I am not sure where they all are. I talked to coach Francis from Georgia. He wants me to come down there. I am going to think about going down there in June. I am not sure if I will go or not."

The talented defender plans to work hard over the summer to help Byrnes prepare for another state championship. "I just want to make myself a better linebacker," said Hunter. "I want to work on team chemistry. I will work on drops and reads. I will focus on the team and making myself a better player."

What are the chances that Clemson will be the winner when the prize recruit announces his commitment next week? "I would say it is about 99.9346789%," responded Hunter.

On May 22nd Hunter put the chances at 75%.
