McDaniel Awaits Test Score

It's hard to believe that most of the 2006 recruiting class will report to Clemson in less than a month to start their college experience. With that in mind, CUTigers.com checks in with Clemson signee DeAndre McDaniel to get the latest on his qualification status.

The 6-1, 180 pound prospect, who is still trying to get that final qualifying test score, continues to wait on the results from a previous test while he prepares to take another.

"I haven't gotten back my last SAT score yet. I am going to take the ACT again this weekend. I need one more point on the ACT. I got three A's and a B this quarter so that helped," McDaniel told CUTigers.com.

The Godby standout will find out over the next few weeks if he will be able to enroll at Clemson this summer. "I should be able to see my ACT score on the computer on June 24. They are going to rush my score," he said.

Clemson assistant coach Dabo Swinney speaks regularly with the talented athlete.

"I talked to coach Swinney on Friday," he said. "He was just telling me when I need to come up to Clemson. I am going to move my stuff up on July 5th or 6th."

The 4-star defensive back does not have a backup plan at this point. "We haven't talked about that," said McDaniel. "I'm getting ready for the season. I am working out like every day. I have a trainer at school. We are workout out and running. She has me working on the workout plan from Clemson.

"It is going good. I have gained about five pounds."

The prize recruit is also trying to enjoy a little vacation time now that he has finished his senior year.

"We have finished school," said McDaniel. "I just got back from Orlando. I am going to Atlanta next week."

CUTigers.com will continue to keep you updated on this future Tiger defensive back, right up through the start of the 2006 season.
