4-Star LB Considering Clemson Visit

One of the top linebackers in Florida, who was recently named to the Scout.com Hot 100 list earlier this week, says an unofficial visit to Clemson could be in store for him later this summer. CUTigers.com has the latest on the star linebacker in this recruiting update.

6-2, 220 pound linebacker prospect Lorenzo Edwards continues to add offers from the top programs around the nation. "I have a ton of offers. Georgia, Texas and Wake Forest are my latest offers," Edwards told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

When asked if he has any current favorites, Edwards responded, "Right now I don't have any. I still haven't narrowed it down yet. I am not sure when I will narrow things down."

The Florida standout plans to take some unofficial visits once he completes summer school.

"Right now I am in summer school," said Edwards. "After summer school I plan to take some visits. I finish school at the end of June. I will start taking my visits in early July."

Clemson defensive line coach Chris Rumph is recruiting Edwards for the Tigers.

"Coach Rumph sends me text messages every now and then. We talk some when we get a chance. Clemson may be one of the schools I visit this summer," said Edwards.

A verbal commitment likely will not come until later this year. "I am going to wait until after my senior season," he said. Which teams are recruiting the prize recruit the hardest at this time? "Everybody is doing about the same. I am hearing a lot from everyone," added Edwards.
