4-Star DT Visiting Clemson

Scout.com four-star prospect Travian Robertson continues to work towards his late summer decision with unofficial visits to his favorite schools. As the 14th-ranked defensive end in the nation by Scout.com, this is a recruitment that is being watched closely by coaches and fans alike.

"Everything's been going good," said Robertson. "I'm just trying to narrow it down; about to make my decision in the next couple of weeks. I'm just getting in touch with the schools that I'm really interested in." Robertson, a 6-foot-4 225-pound defensive end from Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland County, lists South Carolina, N.C. State, Clemson, and North Carolina as the schools he's "really interested in." However, he lacks a leader among the four.

Over the weekend, Robertson traveled to Columbia to make yet another unofficial visit to South Carolina.

"It went all right," said Robertson. "I was down there with a friend of mine and we just got my mom down there so she could see the school."

On Monday, Robertson made an impromptu unofficial visit to North Carolina – his second in as many weeks.

"It wasn't like a big visit," said Robertson. "I was down there already and I just took the time to watch the players at the camp.

"Coach [Tommy] Thigpen just wanted me to chill out with the other boys that were there in town – Marcus Gilchrist, Kevion [Latham], there was a lot."

For most of the visit, Robertson hung out with teammate Jay Wooten, who was on campus to help with the Tar Heels' recruitment of prospects, during the Tar Heels' three-day camp. Robertson revealed he isn't free from Wooten's recruiting efforts.

"Oh, yeah, [he's recruiting me] big time," said Robertson. "He's good."

Over the course of the next few months, Robertson will take visits to Clemson (June 19th), N.C. State (June 16th), and Virginia Tech.

During his junior season at Scotland County High School, Robertson missed all but three games.
