WR Markish Jones Profile
6-1, 190 pound wide receiver prospect Markish Jones has been patiently waiting for an offer from the Clemson Tigers.
He likely won't have to wait too much longer.
"They have not offered me yet," Jones said in an interview with CUTigers.com Wednesday evening. "But they said they would make a decision tomorrow (Thursday) when I go down for a one day camp."
Clemson recruiting coordinator David Blackwell spoke with the Broome standout earlier this week and discussed the important camp appearance.
"Yeah I talked with coach Blackwell this week," he said. "He said I would find out about an offer when I come down for camp."
Aside from Thursday's visit to Clemson, future plans include several stops around the ACC, as well as Middle Tennessee State. "I was supposed to go to Middle Tennessee this weekend, but something came up," Jones said. "But I am going to reschedule for sometime in July. I am also going to visit North Carolina on July 15. And I will fly down to visit Florida State on July 5."
When asked about his current leaders, Jones responded, "I really don't have a favorite right now."
But Jones also said that could all change on Thursday if the Tigers offer. "Most likely it would. It would make them the leader. It could change when I go to Florida State," he said.
And what about a possible verbal commitment? "I will probably make my decision sometime during my season. I want to wait and see how the offers shake out," he said.
The Tigers were not the only school to talk with the rising star this week. "I also talked with East Carolina and Tennessee," stated Jones.
