WR Waiting to Hear from Clemson

One of the upstate South Carolina's top wide receivers has several visits planned in the next few weeks, including a trip to Florida State and North Carolina. Will the Clemson Tigers officially move on board with a scholarship offer in the mean time?

The offer train for Markish Jones continued to roll through last week, but the wide receiver from Broome High in Spartanburg, S.C. is still waiting to pick up its latest passenger.

"Clemson hasn't offered yet, but they told me that I should hear back from them in a couple days," said the 6-foot-1, 190-pound speedster. "They just wanted to watch a little more film."

Jones, who was planning on making a decision during the season, has now pushed his timetable back up the end of July. Within that timeframe he plans to get a few extra visits to his final four schools.

"I am down to Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina, and maybe Florida State. I already set up visits to North Carolina and Florida State. Coach Powell at North Carolina said he wants me to come up for a couple of days in July. I think July 15th and 16th. I go to Florida State on July 6th."

Jones caught 35 passes for 550 yards and a touchdown as a junior.
