Walker Enjoys Tommy Bowden Camp

Landon Walker goes on the record with CUTigers.com about everything from his Tommy Bowden camp experiences last week to his plans to recruit other prospects from the state of North Carolina to Clemson.

Last week, Clemson verbal commitment Landon Walker attended the three-day Tommy Bowden high school football camp.

"I really enjoyed it. I got to really see what it is like at Clemson. It is going to be great, he said. "I got to spend time with Willy (Korn), Xavier (Dye) and Scotty (Cooper)," said Walker. "We hung out a lot together. We hung out in each others room. We had a ball."

The future Tigers also spent a good deal of time helping out the Tigers' recruiting efforts while he was there. "We also tried to work some of the other recruits. We talked to Scotty a lot. We were glad to see him commit."

"Willy and I also got on the phone with Chris Culliver. I am going to bring Chris up to Clemson when I can. I want to take my mom down to see everything. It will be sometime in the next week or two."

With his summer camp plans complete and a verbal commitment already announced, what does Walker have in store for the rest of his summer?

"I am going on vacation the first week of July. We are going down to Myrtle Beach," he said. "It should be nice."

What are the prize recruit's goals for his senior season at East Wilkes? "I just want to be a leader on my football team. I want to let everyone know I am there to win games. The ultimate goal is to win the state champ. If not win, I want to at least win half our games. We had a young team last year. I think we will be much better this year," responded Walker.

The Walker family is also very excited about watching Landon play at Clemson. "My family is excited," he said. "I think they are excited to see me play. They are ready to get down there and watch me play. My brother is excited, he brags about me a lot."
