Top 2008 OL Visits Clemson

Rising junior offensive lineman Dalton Freeman could very well be the top offensive lineman in South Carolina for the class of 2008. And last Friday the star lineman traveled to Clemson with his parents for an unofficial visit. CUTigers.com has all the details in this recruiting update.

OL Dalton Freeman Profile

Offensive lineman Dalton Freeman, a 6-6, 260 pound prospect out of Pelion High School for the class of 2008, made an unofficial visit to Clemson last Friday.

"We went down on Friday morning. I went with my mom and dad. We toured the campus some," Freeman told CUTigers.com about the trip. "I got to meet with coach Scott and coach Bowden. It went well. We talked about my future and what it could be at Clemson."

While Freeman is awaiting his first scholarship offer, don't be surprised if Clemson moves in at some point during his junior season. "They really didn't say when they will offer. Coach Scott is going to come watch me play a game this fall. Then we will talk about it some more," he said.

During his visit, Freeman was able to meet many players on the team. "I had already met a lot of them at the spring game, but I got to see Duane Coleman, James Davis, Ricky Sapp and several others during this visit," he said.

What was the highlight of the visit for the talented lineman?

"I guess it would be talking with coach Bowden. We weren't expecting him to be there. Coach Scott said let's go back and talk to his office. We talked with coach Bowden for about 15 minutes. My dad had met him before, but it was my mom's first time meeting him. My parents really liked him a lot. They thought he was real down to earth," replied Freeman.

Will Freeman take any more unofficial visits this summer?

"Probably not," he responded. "Things are winding down a bit. We are starting practice soon and we have some vacation plans."
