2008 DE/LB Already Drawing Heavy Interest

COLUMBIA, S.C. - One of top junior DE/LB prospects in SC is already drawing interest from many schools in the south, including Clemson. What is he looking for at the next level? How many offers does he have already? CUTigers.com reveals some of the answers in another recruiting update!

LB Robert Quinn Profile

Many of the top juniors and seniors in South Carolina gathered for a media event Sunday at Williams-Brice stadium in Columbia.

But even with so many players in attendance, without question, it was clear that rising junior Robert Quinn was the most imposing of all the linebackers. After all, with two years of high school football left, Quinn already stands in at 6-feet-4, 242 pounds.

CUTigers.com caught up with Quinn for a brief interview about the recruiting process.

"Right now I am hearing from South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and a few others. I also have offers from North Carolina, Clemson and South Carolina," Quinn said.

When asked if he has any early leaders, Quinn responded, "I am not really trying to put anybody first. Right now I am looking at South Carolina because they are not too far away from home and Clemson. I also like Florida and Georgia too.

Quinn also added, "I plan on making a late decision. I want to see where I like best and where I want to go more."

What will be some of the important factors for this rising junior when he makes a decision?

"I want to see which schools I can get to. Then I will look at athletics and the football program," he said.

What impact will teammate Carlos Dunlap's destination have on his decision? According to Quinn, it could be big.

"I was planning on going wherever he is going. It will have a big impact," he added.

Last fall as a sophomore, Quinn recorded 133 tackles, including 10 for a loss and seven quarterback sacks. He has also already claimed a state championship in wrestling in the heavyweight division.
