WR Markish Jones Profile
The wait is over.
Markish Jones, one of the top wide receivers in South Carolina for the class of 2007, has picked up several impressive scholarship offers in recent weeks and today he discovered that Clemson had also joined the party.
"I got the offer today from Clemson," Jones told CUTigers.com. "He caught me while I was asleep. I woke up and saw the text message was from coach Blackwell. I text messaged him a few times and then gave him a call. He said I hope you are still interested. I said yes and he said it is yours.
"I was very excited to get that Clemson offer. I am going to talk with coach Blackwell some more tonight about it."
How does the offer from Clemson change things for the 3-star wide out?
"Well they are definitely now in my top two," Jones responded. "I would say Clemson and Florida State are both like No. 1."
Will Jones now look to make an early decision? He says that while it's possible, he'd like to wait it out a bit before making a verbal commitment.
"I am probably still going to wait," he said. "I still want to take some visits. I will definitely go to most of the home games for Clemson and I am going to visit North Carolina and Florida State.
"I am also going to go down and see Florida State play against Florida later this year."
Florida State, North Carolina, Kentucky, Maryland, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and now Clemson have all offered Jones a scholarship.
