Charlottesville, Va. native Brian Linthicum has a big decision to make in the coming days.

And strangely enough, that decision will be between two schools that rarely find find themselves recruiting against each other for the same prospect.

Monday evening, Linthicum told he'll announce a decision between Clemson and California sometime Thursday afternoon.

"I am still working on a decision," he said. But I have it down to California and Clemson. It will be one of those two, but I am just not sure which one yet."

The 6-5, 230 pound prospect had planned to take one final visit before Thursday, but that plan has changed.

"The trip to Virginia Tech was cancelled. They filled their roster spot at tight end so they no longer had a spot," he said. "I am done with the trips. I am going to make my decision on Thursday."

How does the star tight end plan to decide between his top two schools?

"There are a lot of contributing factors," he responded. "I am going to look at the education and the football programs. I want to play for a school with a chance to win their conference championship and compete nationally.

"I think I will get playing time at both schools and will have a chance to play as a freshman at both. How much I play will depend on how well I do. I love the coaches at both schools too."

Linthicum also talked about the differences between the two programs.

"California has a better education but I like the facilities better at Clemson," he said. "It will be Clemson, South Carolina verse Berkley. They are very different. The temperature in Berkley was wonderful. That is the best weather you can ask for to play football." Top Stories
