DE Tony Tucker Profile

4-star defensive end Tony Tucker is starting to decide which schools will get official visits and the Tigers have made the cut.

"I want to take some visits, but I still need to do my homework a little," he said. "I am planning to go to Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech and Clemson. I don't know about the fifth one yet. Those will probably be my official visits."

When asked about his favorites, Tucker responded, "Those are the four that I am doing more research on but right now they are all even. They are part of my top ten.

"I will probably also take some unofficial visits to Boston College, Maryland and Michigan State. It is going to be hard because we only have one Friday night game this year. Most of our games are on Saturday."

St. Johns High is going to have a good season according to Tucker.

"We are looking real good right now," he said. The only question mark is can the team stay healthy. If we can stay healthy we should be good."

What will be the most important factors as Tucker works to select his college?

"I am looking for good academics," Tucker responded. "I am also looking for a good relationship between the coaches and the players. I want a family type of environment between the coaches and the team. I will also look to see if I can picture myself being at that college for four year."

Finally, a verbal commitment will likely have to wait until the star defender completes his senior campaign.

"I will probably wait until after the season," added Tucker.

As a junior, Tucker recorded 65 tackles and 12 sacks. He also earned second team All-Conference and All-Metro honors.
