Culliver Keeping Options Open

The 6-1, 190 pound prospect had an outstanding game Friday night for Garner.

"It is going good," Culliver said in a recent interview with "We had our first game Friday night. We won 40-19. I was playing kickoff return and punt return. I had over 200 return yards for the games.

"I played was part linebacker and part safety. They wanted me to shut down the tight end. I shut him down. He didn't catch any passes."

On the recruiting front, the former N.C. State commitment says he's still keeping in touch with several schools, including Clemson.

In fact, Clemson assistant coach Chris Rumph is keeping in close touch with the North Carolina standout.

"I am still hearing a lot from Clemson," said Culliver. "I talked to coach Rumph earlier today. We talked about my game last week. He has sent me a text message saying that he heard I got burned. He was just playing with me."

When asked if he has a leader, Culliver responded, "I don't really have a leader right now because I haven't looked at all of the schools yet.

"But I am planning to take official visits to Clemson, Florida, Virginia Tech and possibly one other. I will probably take the official visits after my season."

Which games will he try to see this year?

"I am going to try to go to the Florida State game against Florida," he responded. "I am going to try to go see Clemson play at Florida State and Clemson play against Virginia Tech."
