DT Tydreke Powell Profile
Tydreke Powell, a 6-3, 285 pound defensive tackle prospect out of North Carolina is off to a fast start in his senior campaign.
"We are doing great," Powell told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "We are 4-0 so far. I am doing well. I have 57 tackles and seven sacks so far this season."
The Hertford County star defender has been to see the Tar Heels the past few weekends, where he came away impressed.
"I have been to watch Carolina the last few weeks," he said. "They played great against Rutgers. They also played well against Virginia Tech until the second half."
When asked about his upcoming visits, Powell said, "I don't have any plans to take any other visits until October 21. I will go to Penn State then. I don't have any others setup yet. I will probably take one to Florida.
"I haven't made up my mind on the others yet. I will take all five of my official visits."
When will the 4-star prospect be ready to make a commitment?
"I can't say right now. I am going to try to hold out until I take all of my visits," responded Powell.
The North Carolina standout also says he plans to visit Death Valley for a game sometime this fall.
"I'm still hearing a lot from Clemson," he said. "I get text messages from them, but I haven't talked with the coaches in a while. I will definitely go down there for a game. Me and my coach were talking about that yesterday."
Which teams are recruiting Powell the hardest right now?
"Florida would be right now," he said.
