DB Chris Culliver Profile

Chris Culliver, a 6-1, 190 pound safety prospect is off to a fast start during senior season.

"On defense I have 17 solo tackles, 12 assists, three tackles for loss and one sack," he told in a recent interview. "We are 4-1 on the year. I also have seven touchdowns. I have three on offense and four on returns."

Culliver also said he may be visiting Clemson this weekend for the North Carolina game.

"I am going to try to go this week," he said. "I am not sure if I will make it or not. I will know more later this week."

Saturday night Culliver watched the Tigers beat No. 9 Florida State on national television.

"You know that was a good game. I liked how Clemson switched their backs in and out," he said. "They kept switching Davis, Spiller and Merriweather. They kept putting different people in there. I also saw a lot of rotations at receiver and other positions."

The talented athlete also exchanged text messages with Clemson defensive line coach Chris Rumph before and after Saturday night's victory over the Noles.

"Actually I texted with coach Rumph Saturday. I sent him a text message before the game telling him the winner of the game would be where I go. After the game he sent me a text message back saying I must be a Tiger.

"I am hearing a lot from Clemson. They really want me to come down there. They say I would be a big help."

Culliver added that he's likely several months away from making a verbal commitment.

"I am still a ways off," he said. "After I take my visits to Florida and Florida State I should be ready. I am going to Florida when they play LSU. I am not sure when I will go to Florida State.

"I will also probably go to Virginia Tech to see the Clemson game." Top Stories
